Willing Workers
is a Lutheran Women’s Missionary League Chapter
receiving their charter in 1942.
WHO ARE WILLING WORKERS? We are women of all ages who want to serve the Lord with gladness! Every female communicant member or the wife of a member of Calvary Lutheran Church is eligible to join our group; annual dues are just $5.00
WHAT DO WE DO? We meet together once a month to discover new ways to serve God, to learn more about Him, and to encourage each other in loving friendship as sisters in Christ. Then the fun really begins as we work for Christ, whether it is raising money for missions, cleaning communion cups, gathering food and clothing for the needy . . .
WHEN DO WE MEET? We usually meet the second Wed. of each month (Sept – May) @ 9am. Check our schedule, because we usually have at least two evening meetings and host special events such as the Mother-Daughter Banquet or family gathering.
WHAT IS A TYPICAL MEETING LIKE? Meetings have an opening devotion, business session, and a secial “program” — an inspirational speaker, a prayer breakfast, . . . Check our schedule to see what enriching event is happening!
WHY SHOULD I ATTEND? Come and see! God wants to stir up your heart to love Him more deeply . . . to serve Him more fully . . . to receive His gifts more appreciatively. You will find that Willing Workers is an instrument of His grace to you.

WHAT DOES WILLING WORKERS DO? Please join us in one or all, or help us begin a new effort that serves the Lord and those He loves!
- Financial Support We raise thousands of dollars at our annual Fall Bazaar for various Christian projects. We donate hundred of dollars annually to Lutheran institutions. We collect “mites” for missions, an LWML program to fund mission projects.
- Lutheran World Relief (LWR) We piece and tie quilts for LWR to send throughout the world to those in need. We also collect and assemble school kits and health kits for LWR.
- Prayer Chain We organize our church’s prayer chain to efficiently pray for those in special need.
- Poor Relief We collect clothing for the needy; we take clothing to the Sharing Place Thrift Shop (operated by Lutheran Child and Family Services) and volunteer in the Thrift Shop. We organize Calvary’s food pantry for the needy; and we collect non-perishable foods.
- Christian Growth Support We sponsor the LWML Breakfast Club, a Bible study which meets on Saturday mornings at Calvary four times a year. We are a chapter of the National Lutheran Women’s Missionary League and support its’ programs and objectives, including weekend retreats, rallies and conventions. We encourage Bible Studies and pay the subscription of the LWML Quarterlies, making them available for all Calvary women at church.
- Greeting Card Ministry We send cards to members who are ill, and those having 70+ birthdays, new babies, 50th wedding anniversaries, or a death in the family.
- Baptism Support We always provide hand-made baptismal napkins.
- Wedding Support We serve as wedding hostesses to assist the bride and groom and coordinate their efforts with our church Facilities and policies.
- Shut-in Ministry We provide special gifts once a year to all members of our congregation who are homebound.
- Grief Support We arrange after-funeral meals for grieving families.
- Other Support We stand ready to support other church and mission programs as the need is made known to us.
