Coupon Redemption Excitement
Each Sunday morning I scour through the newspaper extracting the coupon sections. At times the Indianapolis Star advertises the total amount of money that one could save using the coupons contained in that edition. What they don’t tell you is how much you would need to spend in order to use all of the coupons. We all like to save money and coupons serve their purpose when an item that we typically purchase is identified on a coupon ripe for redemption. The excitement grows even further if that item is already on sale at the store.
Have you found a needed coupon only to find that it is expired? How disappointing it is when this occurs. Most coupons have an expiration date. They must be redeemed in a particular time frame.
We will soon be in the church year season of Lent. Ash Wednesday is on March 6 this year. We look to the cross as Jesus walked to Calvary to redeem us from our sinful condition. With Jesus there is no expiration date. The cost was His life. His death and resurrection conquered our eternal damnation. Faith is created in us through the power of the Holy Spirit. All our “yeses” are found in Him. This is tremendous excitement that we desire to share with others.
