The Fingernail and other See the Good Realities

Did the title of the article grab your attention? Let’s find out!

Have you ever thanked God for His creative designs? More specifically for your fingernails? Imagine not having fingernails. Guarding the tips of our fingers is a tremendous need. Think about all the things that you do without thinking that are possible with fingernails. Even a good scratch! Another aspect is that fingernails have no nerve endings. Clip or bite them and no pain. Rip down into the cuticles and then ouch! The same goes for our toenails. Protective tips for our good.

What other See the Good Realities can you think of as you read this? How about God’s design of our ears? Practicality and functionality. Sound waves are caught and directed into our ear canal as they strike the ear drum. The ears never stop growing. As a child I often wondered why my grandparents seemed to have such big ears. A theory that I have considered is that as people get older hearing loss may accompany this aging process. Bigger ears are able to capture more sound waves. Plus their positioning makes wearing glasses another viable option.

The relationship between our joints and muscles give us tremendous mechanical advantage. Just a slight movement over a few inches and our tendons pull the forearm 2-3 feet as the muscle contracts. This occurs throughout our body in motion. Scabs seal out harmful bacteria agents. Blinking refreshes and cleanses our eyes. A host of other See the Good Realities are ours each day that we may often take for granted or overlook.

This article could go on and on as we See the Good in God’s creative design. His greatest design as we See the Good is His plan of Salvation. His plan has been fulfilled in Christ. The blessings through the Resurrection of Christ are ours. Let us never take this for granted, but each day thank and praise, serve and obey our God and Father for His redeeming love and grace.

When our muscles are sore and movement is more difficult. When we snag a fingernail which rips down causing pain and discomfort. When hearing is not as sharp or articulate as it once was do we See the Good? God calls us in faith to know that in all things God works for good according to His purpose. Thought for the Day: Take care of your body as if you would live to 100. Take care of your soul as if you would die tomorrow.
