Christmas Eve and Christmas Day Service Plans
In order to provide both a safe and a meaningful opportunity for families to worship this Christmas, we have added more service times for Christmas Eve. We plan to hold four Christmas Eve worship services to provide space for social distancing and to follow current guidelines. Each of these services will include our normal traditions of Scripture lessons, congregational carols, and the Silent Night candle lighting ceremony at the conclusion of the service. We are asking for your assistance as we plan for this service. Please take the time to complete a brief “Onsite Christmas Service Planning Survey,” so that we can be as well prepared for services this year as possible. The survey simply asks two questions, “What service or services does your family most likely plan on attending for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day?” and “How many family members would you estimate will be in attendance?”
You may complete the survey in any of the following ways.
- Submit an online survey at www.clcs.org/christmassurvey/.
- Submit a hardcopy survey in the church narthex.
- Email or call the church office ( or 317-783-2000).
Please return surveys by Sun., December 13th so that we have time to respond as needed. Seating for Christmas Eve services will be on a first come, first served basis. Please do not arrive more than 30 minutes prior to service to allow a smooth departure of attendees at the previous service. If all seating locations within the Sanctuary and narthex become filled, overflow seating will be available in the gymnasium where a live stream of the worship service will be projected. Congregational participation, candle lighting, and all other aspects of the live service will be available in the gymnasium, if it needs to be utilized.
