The 2022 Holiday Bazaar held on Saturday, November 12th was a wonderful event. Since our last bazaar in 2019, we added a free vendor-donation-raffle by some of the 28 vendors on-site. All guests received a free raffle ticket when entering the north entrance. Winners were announced every so often during the day. We also recognized our valuable veterans with a patriotic pin, complementary cookies, and announcements.
A lot of fun and fellowship was had by the over 50 volunteers the day of the bazaar and 30+ on Friday for set-up. There were many other volunteers leading up to the bazaar including Karen Hand who processed over 400 donations. Special thanks to the Women in Mission members who followed up with a personal visit to businesses. A lot of the revenue the Silent Auction brings in can be attributed to this critical task of personally following up with businesses. All the homemade food donations from Calvary Members enabled the Country Kitchen to exceed expectations. Our Attic inventory was less than usual due to the Yard Sale earlier this year, but then the leftovers were much easier to deal with.
A fun addition to this year’s bazaar is the time-lapse video showing setting up the Silent Auction in the gym!
Over $11,000 was raised. This year’s main recipients are Hunger, Inc., tables and chairs in Calvary’s science lab, and contributing to the fund for replacement of Sanctuary lighting.
