Summary
Whenever we have power, the devil entices us to use it poorly. Today, we see the chief priests using their power to plot Jesus' death—a very poor use of power! And yet Jesus does not respond in kind. Instead, he prepares for the Passover, and he begins making preparations for his death. Through it all, he does not abuse his power, but uses his power to prepare a place at the table for us, one we cannot earn and do not deserve. Jesus' love secures our place, forever.
