I Will Not Leave You...

Passage: John 14:15-27

Preacher: Pastor Kurt Ebert

Series: Easter

Category: Calvary Lutheran Church

Keywords: trust, holy spirit, worry, peace, anxiety, ascension

Summary

The disciples are anxious because Jesus continues to prepare them for his departure to ascend to the Father. They saw his departure as a great trial, but Jesus saw His departure as a great opportunity for the next step in the mission of God. Jesus promises to send the Spirit to led them, guide them, and dwell within them. Though Jesus would not be physically present with them, He would not leave them all alone. Jesus offers us the same care of the Spirit who comes to give us peace in our greatest moments of worry.
