Preacher: Pastor Kurt Ebert

Series: Pentecost

Category: Calvary Lutheran Church

Keywords: sin, romans, spirit, law

Summary

What place does the law have in the life of a Christian? Paul wrestles in Romans 7 of understanding how God’s good law can work such difficult things in our lives. God’s law reveals not just the individual sins that we have committed, but it reveals our deepest underlying problem—our sin condition. The unyielding disposition of self-centeredness that desires to do things our way. Humanity too often defiantly declares itself free of God. Paul wrestles with how we understand this tension in our lives as Christians. Yet, he comforts himself and us that Christ Jesus has already given us the victory in this battle of the wills. Through Jesus, we can raise a song of thanks and praise to God, our Savior.
