Summary

We all know the strain and stress of division, quarreling, and fighting. What we often don’t know is what to do about it. We know what it takes to tear us apart, but the mending us back together is the difficult part. The congregation in Corinth is divided against one another and from the looks of things they aren’t handling it very well. Some refuse to admit there’s a problem, while others seek the opportunity to assert their authority. So, how should we as Christians respond to conflict? Paul neither fumes nor fears, but he patiently goes about preaching the gospel of Jesus into their hearts and minds. Paul invites us even today to allow the gospel to work itself into the hard soil of our hearts, so that a crop of forgiveness may sprout up.
