Dressing in Layers

SING a LITTLE LOUDER
I will give thanks to you, O LORD, among the peoples; I will sing praises to you among the nations. For your steadfast love is great above the heavens; your faithfulness reaches to the clouds. Psalm 108:3–4

Dressing in Layers

This weekend is forecast to bring significantly cooler weather. When the cooler weather is experienced, we are all quite aware that winter will soon be upon us. One suggested way to stay warm is to dress in layers. This layering helps to insulate our bodies which keeps our own body heat trapped and less able to escape. If we visit an indoor facility, we are then able to remove layers as we seek the right conditions.

Do you ever feel like your life is layered? You peel off one activity or demand after another to find only more and more expectations of you? God knows our layered existences. He invites us to rest in Him. He places us gently in His arms and restores our thirsting and hungry souls. As winter approaches, we stay warm in our Father’s love. We know that He will provide for the layers ahead.

We pray that our upcoming Fall Break serves to refresh and rejuvenate us through our layers and that in doing so that we may sing a little louder.
