Election Day Freedom

SING a LITTLE LOUDER
I will give thanks to you, O LORD, among the peoples; I will sing praises to you among the nations. For your steadfast love is great above the heavens; your faithfulness reaches to the clouds. Psalm 108:3–4

Election Day Freedom

One of our American freedoms is to cast a vote for the candidate of our choosing. Having a vote and a voice in deciding those that would eventually govern and lead us is truly a blessing. But what if the candidate that I desire is not elected? In a democracy, we stand as a country and support the elected leaders even if it isn’t the one for which I voted. We are encouraged to use our freedom for every election. This year’s election day is Tuesday, November 7.

God grants to us His freedom apart from the Law. Freedom does not mean to do whatever I see fit, but freedom to love one another and to not fear the penalty for our sins. This freedom has been given to each of us through Jesus’ death and Resurrection. In faith we are called to exercise this freedom each day. There are no term limits. There is no need to determine an election outcome. We are called God’s elect as we clothe ourselves in the righteousness of Jesus. All is complete.

We gather as Saints, set apart to follow God’s will as we sing a little Louder.
