strong. Do everything in love.” 1 Corinthians 16:13

Leveling the Ladder

This past week-end as we gathered at one of our daughter’s home to celebrate a granddaughter’s birthday, I went to work. Some of her siding blew off of the chimney during a recent wind storm. With all this rain that we have experienced lately the ground was relatively mushy. As I placed the ladder against the house I knew that I was in business. No need to level the ladder or to have someone hold it for me as I ascended to the heights of the chimney. The ladder leveled itself as it sunk down into the wet soil. I felt very secure while replacing her siding pieces. One of the more important tasks prior to climbing a ladder is to make sure the foundation is secure and level. We all need a secure foundation.

God grants to each of us His Word as a sure foundation. He has completed all the “leveling” as we walk through life. No matter the condition of our walk, God is the sure hand holding us close to Him. What a joy and peace is ours as we place our trust and hope in Him. We are able to STAND FIRM in this faith for God keeps His promises. The empty tomb is the fulfillment of God’s promise. We urgently tell others of this Good News.
