2026 Congregational Study: “Everyday Revolutionary: How to Transcend the Culture War and Transform the World” by J.D. Greear

Calvary will host a special sermon series and bible study opportunity from Oct 17/18 through Nov 21/22. This year's study is a video based small group Bible study by J.D. Greear entitled, “Everyday Revolutionary.” You can do the study entirely on your own or you can join a small group study to help you process what you learn, providing you additional encouragement and insights from fellow Christians. There is also an option book available for church online or potentially for checkout through your local library.

Theme Summary:

You've likely felt the underlying tension between living faithfully as a Christian and navigating an increasingly complex cultural landscape. Perhaps you've found yourself wrestling with questions that seem to have no clear answers:

· When should I speak up and when should I stay silent?

· How can I show love to my neighbors while standing firm in my convictions?

· What does it mean to be both gracious and truthful in a world that often sees these as mutually exclusive?

Join J. D. Greear as he answers these questions by looking at the life of Daniel—a Jewish man who was distinctively faithful and beloved in the culture of Babylon—and at the writings of Peter and other New Testament authors, who used Babylon as a metaphor for the secular world after Jesus' ascension. Drawing on insights from the book of Daniel, Greear shares five core practices that help you discover the life Jesus desires for you and your creative purpose.

Sessions include:

1. Made to Make a Difference

2. Why We Are Here

3. Citizens of Another Kingdom

4. Live Quietly: Creation-Fulfilling and Excellence-Pursuing
