A Fearful Response to Salvation

Summary
In the Gospel, Jesus encounters a man who is possessed by many demons. Jesus comes to this man in his captivity and sets him free. But not everyone is delighted. The people who knew the demon-possessed man are afraid, and they beg Jesus to leave them. Only the man who was saved turns to Jesus and trusts Him. Today, Jesus comes to us with an even greater deliverance. By His death and resurrection, Jesus sets us free from our enemies, from sin, death, and Satan. We are, like the man, free to tell of Jesus’ mercy and deliverance.
