Summary
A tension arises today within our Gospel from Mark 1:29-39. After great success and public acclaim generated by His public healing, we see a tension appear between Jesus and his newly minted ‘disciples’ over the plans and purpose of his ministry. How will the disciples and the crowds respond when Jesus breaks their expectations? How do we respond when Jesus breaks our expectations? What do we do when our will clashes with God’s will? Mark invites us to marvel today at the POWER, PROMISE, AND PURPOSE present in Jesus.
