Summary
How do we rightly handle the Word of God, as it speaks to the many different situations, people, motivations, and contexts of life? A tension rightly exists within Scripture between its invitation to rejoice personally in the free gift of grace and forgiveness in Jesus and its continued call to grow radically in righteousness, love, and mission towards our neighbor. How do we hold this necessary tension, while faithfully proclaiming the fullness of God’s Word? We find the answer in appropriately preaching both the power of Christ for us and the power of Christ in us.
