Lord, Teach Us

Passage: Luke 11:1-13

Preacher: Pastor Kurt Ebert

Series: Pentecost

Category: Calvary Lutheran Church

Keywords: prayer, father, god's will, lord’s prayer

Summary

Prayer. A word so seemingly simple and yet so complex. Prayer is a gift from the Lord, but like all gifts it can be abused. And no prayer has been more abused than the Lord’s Prayer. In today’s sermon, we join with the anonymous disciple, who came with a simple request, “Lord, teach us to pray.” On bended knee and with open hearts, we ask Jesus to create in us a life of prayer that seeks not our will to be done, but His name to be hallowed, His kingdom to come, and His forgiveness to reign in all of our days. For Our Heavenly Father is the only one who knows what we truly need.
