The King's Will

Passage: Luke 13:31-35

Preacher: Pastor Joshua Reifsteck

Series: Lent

Category: Calvary Lutheran Church

Keywords: jesus, jesús, king, kingdom, rejection, will

Summary

Jesus' harsh words to Jerusalem and to Herod may strike us as odd, but Jesus is encouraging us to realize something: He desires to draw all people to himself. Though we might reject Him in favor of worldly things, He continues to pursue His mission of love to the world. In the cross, our rejection of Jesus is complete; the world kills its King. But thanks be to God that in that same cross, Jesus' mission is completed. He draws all people to himself. He saves us, just as He promised.
