Of all the people that Jesus could call to follow, what is Matthew doing high on the list? He was living the wrong kind of life, chasing the wrong kinds of things, and outwardly didn’t seem to be even looking for a change, that is, until Jesus stepped into the picture. What would convince Matthew to leave it all to follow? What will it take to convince you of God’s gracious and challenging plans for your life? He forgives your past, abides in your present, and has plans for your future.
