As Director of Adult Ministry Emily assists the pastors with ministry needs and events for adults. A member of Calvary for 40+ years, Emily grew up in Logansport, IN, and studied psychology & social work at Valparaiso University, where she met her husband, Tony. After raising their 4 children, Emily worked in social work and education-related jobs but felt a calling to ministry. She enrolled in chaplain training at St. Vincent Hospital, began working part-time at Calvary with Adult Ministry in 2008, and also served part-time as Spiritual Life Leader at Lutheran Child and Family Services, Indianapolis. In 2013 she graduated from Concordia Theological Seminary and was called to serve as Calvary’s deaconess. She enjoys working and growing along with our members in connecting, learning, caring and serving, by organizing monthly outings, Lunch & Learn events for adults, and also assisting with Women's, Compassion, and Fellowship ministries' projects. She has a passion for reading, being outdoors and chocolate.
