Hundreds of local families enjoy a sensory fest at Calvary Lutheran’s Touch-A-Truck event

Calvary Lutheran Church hosted its 2nd annual Touch-A-Truck community event, drawing in over 450 people to Indy’s Southside on Saturday, September 6th, for a truckload of fun! Children could explore a fire engine, ambulance, concrete truck, dump truck, squad car, camper and the Bookmobile! In addition to cars and trucks, families enjoyed face painting, Hot Wheels car racing, a monster truck bounce house, crafts, games and a complimentary lunch.

This unique event was free to all families, the community, and church members. Visitors were treated to a truck scavenger hunt and received Fire Chief hats or yellow “I serve GOD” construction hats. Having the chance to hammer nails and build their own birdhouse was a highlight for many kids!

Additional family events are scheduled for this fall. The outdoor family night on October 18th will be a night of games, music, and laughter. Kids will share their art skills at “Jesus and Canvas” in November (date TBD). To learn more about these events and our church worship services, please visit our website at clcs.org.
